Pumpkin Carving

The girls were so excited to carve their princess pumpkin they could hardly contain themselves during supper! They thought it was all fantastically exciting. That's what I love about kids - they love the excitement and anticipation even more than the actual event. That's why I try to get them all geeked and full of excitement leading up to events... it's half the fun! I learned it from my Dad :)

What's inside there?

The girls response to all this gooey stuff....

Eeeeeeeeewwwwwwww!

It's all done! The prettiest princess pumpkin ever! We even glued on a tiara and jewels!

Projects & Pumpkins

With Brad gone hunting for days... I always come up with projects to do around the house. The girls helped me this year :)
I repurposed the old coffee table for a new craft table in the playroom, and painted some old school chairs pink - of course.

Complete with handprint flowers which the girls LOVED making!

I put up a few bulletin boards that are already full!

And with no help other than encouragement from the girls, I stained and sealed the girls' playground. It looks so much better now! They had fun playing around me as I worked.

Then Daddy came home. We made him go pick out pumpkins with us :)

The pumpkins were paid for and brought home... but Daddy's work was not done!

Busy School Daze

First I would like to say... "Oh plaid couch that I loathe... your days are numbered! You will no longer be the hideous background for many of my pictures. Oh yes! You will be delegated to my basement with a red couch cover in less than a month! Take that!"

With pre-school comes the traveling animal. This year it is Lansing the bear. He came home with Olivia first and oh how she loved him!

But wait! When you get the animal, you also get a special day - where Mommy has to send a snack. So I followed their learning of seeds and acorns and made acorn donut holes. They turned out freakin' cute and they were really easy!

Lansing did not stay away from our house for long! Evie took him home the next day of pre-school. Oh yes! I get 3 special days in a row! And 3 snacks in a row!!!!!!

Finally it was Sophie's turn to have Lansing! She got to have him for the weekend! Although, most of the time Olivia was still taking care of him. I think Sophie liked the idea of it, but didn't really care about holding Lansing :)

One night while Brad was still gone hunting we had a great night with Diane, Mommy's friend. We swam in a pool, had hot dogs for supper, and then the girls got to have a sleepover in Miss Diane's bed! They loved all of it!

And a night at Miss Diane's is not complete without a bath with shaving cream!!!!!!!!!!
